Spring 2026

Welcome back to the Spring Term 

The term has already been a busy one and the children have all been working hard. Coming up really soon we have some very exciting events such as World Book Day, a planetarium in school, Forest School days and our residential trip to Petty Pool Education Centre (at the beginning of next term).

RE - Galilee to Jerusalem

Our RE topic this half-term is 'Galilee to Jerusalem' and our second one is 'Desert to Garden'. We looked at the miracles Jesus performed and how these were used to show Jesus is the Messiah and that they were signs that the Kingdom of God was coming. We also studied John the Baptist and how Jesus chose Peter to be head of the church.

One of our favourite activities was making booklets for our Year 3 class all about what happens during the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Science - Sound

We have found our Science topic fascinating and through our experiments have investigated how sound is made from vibrations, how to change the pitch and how sound travels through different materials.

Music

We are making super progress with our music lessons and we will soon be showcasing our very own Year 4 music performance to the whole school and to our parents. More information nearer the time!

Art

We have been honing our drawing and sketching skills by learning how to shade using different tones of pencil and create texture using cross-hatching. We have also been aiming to produce drawings which are in proportion.
